2020 Census Campaign

2020 Census Campaign

Background

As young children have been historically undercounted in the U.S. Census, this project sought to create public awareness around the importance of counting children. The audiences for these materials were concerned Texans and community organizations working to ensure all young children in Texas were counted in the U.S. Census.

Media

For this campaign, I created posters and social media images — as illustrated below — along with various media collateral including: a webpage, a guide for creating social media posts with sample messages, and PowerPoint presentation materials.

Census Posters

18” x 24”

I designed the layout for four posters to be printed and distributed in community centers across Texas to promote the accurate count of children in Texas. I collaborated with translators to produce the Spanish language versions.

I developed the layouts in Adobe InDesign, with images sourced from Adobe stock.

Census Social Media Images

I produced various-sized images for Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to generate awareness around the 2020 Census.

Census Presentation Template

I formatted this presentation template, which was made available for organizations and concerned Texans to educate communities about the importance of the 2020 Census.
