Maternal Health Project

St. David’s Foundation Maternal Health Project

Background

Texas has the highest maternal mortality rate in the developed world. This project focused on the health of Texas mothers during the year after childbirth. The goal of this campaign was to highlight the types of challenges mothers face, including untreated behavioral health challenges, substance use, and key barriers to getting support. The audiences for these materials were the St. David’s Foundation, the Texas Legislature, state agencies, and the public at large.

Media

Materials I produced for this project included a report, 1-pagers, policy briefs, presentation materials, blogs, and social media posts.

Report

8.5” x 11”, saddle stitch print

I coordinated with multiple stakeholders who contributed content for this report. I designed the report layout in Adobe InDesign and created the charts and maps in Adobe Illustrator.

Policy Brief on Texas Women’s Health Programs

8.5” x 11”

This document is an explainer on the various state-run health programs for women in Texas.

I created a document template in Google Docs for collaborators to use. Additionally, I created the tables and insight boxes in Adobe InDesign.

Powerpoint Presentation in Support of the Report

In support of the report’s release, I formatted the presentation that was delivered to the funder, the St. David’s Foundation.

ECI Social Media Images

I produced various-sized images for Twitter and Facebook, to promote the report’s release, accompany a blog series, and generate public awareness.
